About KLEO

Kinross-shire Local Events Organisation (KLEO) organises a variety of events through the year for everyone in our local community.

-  creates opportunities for local people to get involved in arts and culture

-  aims to create a community spirit

-  supports local businesses

-  celebrates Kinross-shire as a really great place to live.

KLEO began as a community group in 2008, and is now a registered charity (SC044056). The charity is run by a small volunteer committee, headed by four volunteer trustees. We meet monthly in Kinross. One paid member of staff manages all the charity’s administration, funding applications and event logistics.

We’re all local people passionate about seeing exciting things happen in our community, and we are always looking for new volunteers and new ideas! Find out how to get involved.

What does KLEO do?

KLEO organises the Kinross-shire Winter Festival (Nov-Dec), which includes live music, big-name headliners, family and community activities and a festive street market. Other events such as the Mary Queen of Scots fun day, live music gigs and workshops take place throughout the year. KLEO also runs community choir Leven Voices. Have a look at our diary to see what’s coming up.

KLEO also hires equipment to local community groups for their own events.

Thanks

KLEO is grateful to the many volunteers who help make events happen. We are also delighted to have received grant funding from the Arthur & Margaret Thompson Trust, Foundation Scotland, Kinross Community Council, The Community Food Fund, Kinross-shire Fund, Kinross-shire Partnership, Kinross Round Table, Perth and Kinross Council and the Scott Davidson Trust. Several local businesses have provided in-kind support, for which we are grateful; Special thanks to Fruix Farm Storage for storing our equipment and Ross McConnell for accountancy services.
