Artie’s Tartan Tales

Starring Artie from The Singing Kettle
Singing Kettle's creator and former star, Artie Trezise, is part of the Kinross-shire Winter Festival and Bookweek Scotland 2019 with his exciting storytelling production, Tartan Tales on Tuesday 19 November, 4pm at Kinross Parish Church

Artie’s Tartan Tales was a new project for him when the Singing Kettle closed its doors two years ago. He started the show as a presentation during a campaign on Children’s Literacy entitled the “Big Read”. Artie was surprised at how much he enjoyed it the simple approach. “I went from playing large concert halls to doing solo performances in shopping malls and community venues. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and decided to branch out and do more shows on my own”.

With the help of his wife Cilla Fisher, Artie had developed a unique story telling style. Traditional stories have been reworked, rewritten and interactive elements added. Artie explains, “We have taken a story like Goldilocks and added a chorus within it so that the children can join in and be part of the action. Adults love joining intoo. Of course I get children from the audience to join me on stage too.”Artie and Cilla have recently moved to Cilla’s part of the country. They have soldu p in Kingskettle and are enjoying life in their new Glasgow home. “I love the buzz of the city but I still love to get on the road–the lifestyle is something that’s part of my DNA.”

“The Singing Kettle’s founder, Artie, is back on the road. Ripping it up. Don’t miss it, your kids will love it.” Daily Record
