Volunteering Information
Thursday 2nd – Sunday 5th September 2009
This will be the second Gazebo Gathering; a family music festival in front of the wonderful setting of Kinross House. We are delighted that you are interested in being a part of this exciting event. We have a wide range of inspiring activities on the day of the event and we’re hoping to attract large crowds. As such, there are a variety of volunteer opportunities on offer and we are grateful for any help you can commit to, as this will help contribute to making the Gazebo Gathering 2010 a successful event.
The roles we require help with are listed below. Once you have had time to read these, please take time to fill in the application form at the bottom to register your interest.
Volunteering activities:
Stewarding: Duties: include support for professional stewards, patrolling grounds to monitor safety of the audience, being prepared to act calmly and efficiently under instruction in the event of an emergency. You will be well briefed before taking part.
Box Office: Duties include selling wristbands (= entrance ticket) and providing people with a questionnaire with terms and conditions on the back and answering general enquiries, you will be briefed before the event so hopefully will have a full understanding of what is planned.
Information desk/organisers Tent: Duties include answering general enquiries, reporting and looking after lost property (or children!), liaising with the Production Management.
Gazebo monitoring: Duties include showing people with gazebo tickets location, where they can pitch their gazebos. Ensuring that gazebo’s are pitched at a safe distance from other gazebos whilst keeping routes through the gazebos open and clear of obstructions
KLEO stall: Duties include assisting KLEO staff with the promotion of the group’s activities and sale of merchandise / lucky dip for children.
Catering for volunteers: Duties include providing volunteers with coffees/teas and light snacks on production of a food voucher.
Litter and recycling: Duties include assisting the litter and recycling contractors to ensure that the site is kept clean and that the maximum amount of recycling is achieved. A large number of volunteers will be needed to help with this task on Sunday, to ensure the site is clean at the close of the event.
Toilets: Duties include regular check of cleanness of toilets and providing new toilet paper.
Set up and clear up crew: Duties include assisting with the set-up of the event on Thursday the 2nd and Friday the 3rd of September and clearing up of the site on Sunday 5th of September.
In the event of hot weather, please do bring a water bottle, sun cream and sun hat.

We will be providing a Gazebo Gathering T-Shirt, which you will be able to keep after the event and FREE entry to the event.
